In the midst of a Selma, California downpour, Ubaldo Apolinar, a kind-hearted teenager, was drawn to a scratching sound at his door. To his surprise, a drenched puppy stood there, seeking refuge. His immediate instinct was to shelter the pup, but his parents had other ideas.

A Rain-soaked Pup Finds a Friend

The sight of the wet and trembling puppy tugged at Ubaldo’s heartstrings. Offering some of his own dog’s food, he said to The Dodo, “She was hesitant initially, but as I approached and petted her, she warmed up to me.” Recognizing her pink collar,

Ubaldo deduced she was lost. He swiftly posted about her on local Facebook groups, hoping to find her family. In the interim, he ensured she was fed and clean.

His parents, citing housing rules, refused to let her inside. Concerned for her well-being, Ubaldo, under the cover of night, secretly brought her indoors.

They bonded in hushed play sessions, with Ubaldo even fashioning a sock into a cozy sweater for her. “I grew so fond of her. I wished she could stay, but I knew her family must be missing her,” he reflected.

Homecoming for Bubba

The next day brought good news. A local resident reached out, claiming the puppy. After some checks, Ubaldo discovered the pup’s name was Bubba and she lived nearby. Before their farewell, Ubaldo and Bubba shared a few more playful moments.

“She’s spirited and utterly endearing,” he fondly recalled. With a heart full of memories, Ubaldo returned Bubba to her family. Their bond, however, remains unbroken, with Ubaldo free to visit his furry friend anytime.
