When I saw the picture of this cat for the first time, I thought it was funny because the cat doesn’t seem impressed at all, but it’s just its face. However, after I read its story, I felt bad for laughing. 

I believe that you can tell a lot about a cat’s emotions just by looking at its face. Even though this kitty has a naturally ‘grumpy’ face, it looked even more dissatisfied, probably because of the unhappy life it had led.

The cat with the grumpy, angry face from the picture is now called Garfield, and he was found all alone. 

Garfield was abandoned and left in an empty house without food and water and other basics for normal life conditions.

Garfield’s lucky day came when Paul Tateosi from Sarasota, Florida, went to the empty house with his colleague to do an inspection. 

To everyone’s surprise, when Paul went to the back of the house, a furry little ginger boy approached him crying for help. It was a ginger Persian cat who was obviously helpless and hungry.

Paul said that the cat appeared out of nowhere. He was doing an inspection of an apparently empty house, and there was no one there except him and his colleague, and Garfield.

Poor Garfield was not only left without food and water, but he was obviously in a bad condition. His fur was tangled and matted and dirty. He was so skinny that you could see his bones. 

Still, Garfield didn’t let that hold him back, he still had faith in humanity, so he approached Paul in a friendly way asking for help.

Paul said that Garfield was a cat full of love and that he was extremely friendly. He added: “So I sat with him for a long while on the ground, petting his head and keeping him company.”

After that, Paul returned to work but kept checking on the little guy to check he was doing okay. It seems to me that Garfield immediately stole his heart and that Paul just couldn’t stop thinking about him. I mean, who could?

Garfield had probably been abandoned for a very long time, but it’s remarkable that he still trusted people and that he was a happy cat. 

Where Is Garfield Now?

As they were finishing the inspection, a decision had to be made, and the only right decision was to save Garfield from the street and other potential dangers. 

Paul says: “ At the end of it all, owing to the fact that the tenants were out, all of their stuff was gone, and the owner had never lived in the house, the inspector decided to take him home.”

When I heard about Garfield and his story for the first time, I must admit, I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. 

First, I found his face funny, then I felt sorry for laughing at his face because he was abandoned, but finally, I’m glad that these kind people didn’t leave him alone but instead took him and provided him with a lovely home where he’ll be cared for by a loving family.
I’m sure that Garfield deserved his happy ending. Now, he’s enjoying his fur-ever family and his loving home where he receives a lot of love and attention. Although his face looks like he’s not impressed, worry not, he’s a happy cat now; it’s just his face!
