Human cruelty can be truly devastating, especially for the most vulnerable among us. Recently, an innocent kitten fell victim to it, but thanks to a compassionate woman, this precious little furball pulled through.

Kimberlee Rose and her buddy were cruising along Venice Beach, CA, on their longboards when they heard a faint meowing sound echoing from a palm tree. Curious, they came closer and discovered a tiny kitten trapped up in the branches.

The kitten was clearly in distress, crying out for help. Kimberlee called out to her, but she seemed too frightened to come out – or so Kimberlee thought…

As she approached and tried to scoop up the timid feline, Kimberlee realized the heartbreaking truth. This poor thing was tied to the tree with a short leash, unable to move. She looked up at Kimberlee with pleading eyes, as if begging for help.

Questions flooded Kimberlee’s mind as she wondered who could have done such a thing and why. She recounted those moments and shared in an interview:

“She was very desperate for someone to notice her. She was meowing in distress and looking in our direction. She seemed like she wanted to approach us. I thought she was being timid at first, but then we realized she was actually tied there and couldn’t move.”

The sight of this helpless baby moved Kimberlee deeply and she knew she needed to act urgently to spare her from further suffering. With the help of her friend, Kimberlee untied the leash and set the kitten free.

At first, the little furball was a bit jumpy, but she quickly relaxed and turned into the sweetest cuddle bug as she realized she was in good hands, safe and sound.

Overwhelmed with relief, her tiny body was finally at peace. After a hearty meal, she snuggled into her rescuer’s jacket and immediately fell asleep, as Kimberlee explained:

“She seemed scared but relieved to have help. It was very cold, so I put her in my jacket once I saw she was comfortable with us. She fell asleep right away.”

Since it was too late to visit a vet, Kimberlee brought the kitten to her home in Santa Monica. She stopped at a store to pick up some wet food and basic kitten supplies, including materials to improvise a litter box.

All the while, the kitten slept peacefully in Kimberlee’s jacket. Once they arrived home, she settled into her new surroundings, grateful to finally feel the warmth and safety she longed for.

As they found comfort in each other’s company, Kimberly felt their bond was destined to last. She named her furry friend Venice, and together, they drifted off to sleep.

By the time they woke up the next morning, Kimberly was certain that Venice had found her forever home, as she put it:

“I fell in love with her quite quickly. I really didn’t realize how much I needed her in my life. She was the missing piece!”

Today, Venice is thriving in her new home, grateful for a loving owner who showers her with care and affection. She has truly found her place in the world and her meowmy feels blessed to have found her that night in a palm tree.

Watching this bundle of fur curled up beside her reminds Kimberlee of all the joy that comes when we give and receive love unconditionally!
