In early August, Lori Dugas, a resident of Port Charlotte, United States, filmed her baby Caleb and her dog Kahlua in a moment of kindness that the dog had with the child. The publication, shared on Tik Tok, yielded hundreds of views and comments about the family dog’s performance.

Having a disability and not being able to walk normally like other dogs, Kahlua walks sitting on the ground. And perhaps Caleb wanted to imitate his four-legged friend, as in the video he is seen watching the way the dog moves.

The dog, noticing the baby’s interest, tries to teach him, and gradually Caleb moves on the ground, in a kind of crawl, with his leg tucked under his body.

In her Tik Tok – which even bears the name of Kahlua – @kahluasadventure, the video was shared with the caption: “Our paralyzed dog taught the baby to crawl”. Since then the video has reached more than 11 million views. In a previous video, Lori explains that Kahlua had broken her back when she fell from a three-story balcony, and the injury left her paralyzed. Lori temporarily adopted the dog, and after the family adjusted to Kahlua’s new routine, she adopted the pet for good.

In another video shared in September, Lori further teases the relationship between best friends Caleb and Kahlua. In the video, the dog is sitting outside Caleb’s crib, the child, entertained with the animal, begins to pick up an ‘imaginary food’ that is inside the crib and feed it directly into the dog’s mouth. The scene portrays well the friendship and trust that one has in the other. While Caleb feeds Kahlua his imaginary food, the dog searches the ground for crumbs that don’t exist.

The song that packs the video, could not be another, “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” – in translation, “You have a friend in me”. Song is known for being the theme of children’s animation toys, ‘Toy Story’, 1995.

The lyrics sing: “There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you. We stand together, we can see that. Because you have a friend in me.” Demonstrating well the relationship between little Caleb and his dog Kahlua.
