A Twist of Fate Brings New Beginnings Enter Aimee Burton, a compassionate dog trainer from San Diego, California. Aimee’s heart was set on Gilbert the moment she spotted him on a shelter’s website. However, fate initially seemed to have other plans, as Gilbert was adopted by another family. But destiny intervened, and just three days later, Aimee received a call. The family couldn’t keep Gilbert due to their other dog’s jealousy. Without a second thought, Aimee rushed to welcome Gilbert into her life.

Gilbert’s past is shrouded in mystery. He was found as a stray in Lancaster, California, and his survival, especially at a mere 4.8 pounds, is nothing short of miraculous. “The fact that he survived was pretty crazy,” Aimee reflects, acknowledging the dangers of wildlife in the area.

Gilbert’s days are filled with small adventures and moments of joy. Whether it’s the heart-melting way he looks at Aimee each morning or his quirky habits like eating lettuce, avoiding grass, and asserting his dominance in the most harmless way possible, Gilbert is a character.

Most of all, Gilbert relishes comfort. He finds bliss in snuggling next to Aimee, basking in the warmth of a loving home. “He loves to be in comfort. He always wants to be on a blanket or under a blanket,” Aimee shares.
