There is no disputing our dogs’ devotion to their owners, and despite the tragedy of the present story, this devoted dog sacrificed his life to protect his family!

In the early hours of the morning, Achy Wijaya discovered his dog in their yard in Merauke, Indonesia, nearly dead. He had heard him barking the previous evening, according to Achy.

According to NtdNews, Achy was horrified to discover that his dog had been poisoned on purpose:

“Our great dog continued barking, so they didn’t rob us,” Achy posted on her Facebook page. We hadn’t known about it when we left the house in the morning. We learned that our dog had been poisoned by the thieves.

According to the terrible facts found, the family stated that they were asleep when a group of thugs arrived and prepared to steal them of their belongings.

Despite their dog’s frantic barking, nobody checked because they believed their dog had discovered the cat.

The dog suddenly stopped barking, and the next morning it was discovered near death, laying in its own vomit with a taste of foam, indicating it had been poisoned fatally.

We had intended to take him to the vet, but the vet clinic was closed because it was a Sunday and since we live in Papua, the doctor typically only treats livestock.

In an effort to help him, the family made their dog drink milk, oil, and coconut milk, but he became too weak and passed away as a result.

While Achy grieved for his brave dog who sacrificed his life to save his family, he also captured his pet’s final moments on camera in order to remember him and to warn others to pay attention when their pets bark.
