This Talkative Cat Was Returned To The Shelter By Her Previous Owner, Now She’s Daddy’s Girl
When Dan and his wife decided to adopt a cat, little did they know how exciting this new chapter would be.
They reached out to their local shelter and soon learned about a cat that had been returned by her previous owners. However, the reason they left her is what shocked Dan to the core.
Her previous owner was bothered by her long fur, and decided to abandon her at the shelter!
Dan immediately fell in love with this gorgeous calico fluffball! They adopted her and one more cat from the shelter, naming them Akkodha and Bella.
These two girls were not from the same litter, however, they formed a sisterly bond that was more than special.
Akkodha and Bella used to play and nap together, spending their days peacefully in their new furrever home. However, as ill luck would have it, their world was about to turn upside down.
Bella experienced some health issues and shortly after crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving her sister grief-stricken.
This broke Akkodhas’ heart, she was constantly wandering around the house, searching for Bella.
Dan did his best to comfort Akkodha, hoping he could mend her broken heart. He made sure to cuddle her any chance he got and proceeded to talk to her, hoping his voice would have a soothing effect.
However, once Dan started talking to Akkodha, this gorgeous fluffball decided to talk back! As Dan said in a video:
“I always talk to her like she’s another person. She’ll wait for me to say something and then answer. I never thought a cat would do that!”
Akkodha’s daddy jokingly started asking her questions and to his surprise, she always had an answer ready. However, after some time Dan noticed her meows and chirps started to sound a lot like ‘OK’, so he gave her a nickname – The OK Cat.
Akkodha took the internet by storm, as she gained numerous followers all over social media platforms. Her dad would ask her questions and she would answer him with a simple ‘OK’!
Despite being famous on the internet, Akkodha is still pretty much daddy’s girl. She adores and follows him everywhere, as Dan mentioned:
“She really follows me around. She’ll have like a ritual of putting her paw on my face to wake me up. She’ll wake me up no matter what.”
Dan’s wife gets jealous at times, however she understands the special bond Dan and Akkodha have. As Dan said:
“Talking to her back and forth, it’s my favorite part of the day.”
