Kartik’s family had a lovely Persian cat named Oreo and this gorgeous white fluffball was the king of their house.

Sadly, Oreo experienced some health issues, and shortly after, the poor soul passed away. The family was completely devastated and heartbroken, however, one family member in particular took this loss pretty hard…

Kartik’s dad cried for days after Oreo crossed the rainbow bridge. He had a special bond with Oreo, and all of a sudden his favorite fluffball was gone!

Kartik thought his dad would never recover from this and the family knew they would probably never own a cat again. 

However, fate always finds a way to set things right and that’s exactly what happened to this family.

One day, Kartik received a call from his friend asking for help. The man was running some errands and when he came back to his car he found a tiny kitten crawling right next to it. 

Without hesitation, he scooped the kitten up, but unfortunately, he wasn’t able to keep the little one and he decided to ask Kartik for help.

Kartik was hesitant at first, knowing his father still mourned the loss of Oreo. However, the tiny kitten desperately needed a home…

Once they got home, Kartik’s dad immediately bonded with the little tabby kitten. As Kartik said in a video: 

“My father believes that it’s Oreo that came back to him.”

From that day on, Leon and his favorite human became inseparable. He only listens to grandpa, almost as if Kartik is not there at all. 

Leon puts his paws up asking grandpa to carry him around. He sleeps right next to him and patiently waits for his grandpa to come home in the evening. As Kartik said in the video:

“So it’s a grandson and grandad’s relation, that Leon has with my father.”

Kartik’s dad showers Leon with kisses and talks to him every day. If grandpa forgets their playtime, Leon makes sure to remind him by jumping all over him! As Kartik mentioned:

“If my father is not playing with him, and he is in an active mood, he will fold his back and then starts to jump, as he is trying to say: ‘I want to play!’”

Every morning, Leon knows his favorite human is about to leave the house, so he follows grandpa around almost as if he is asking him to stay. 

Kartik’s dad then picks him up, gives him a round of kisses, and promises him he’ll be back soon!

This story is a true example of how our feline friends can mend and heal our soul! I’m grateful Kartik gave Leon a chance which further helped his dad overcome the loss of Oreo.
