Brave Goldendoodle Rescues Young Fawn from Water and Continues to Look After It.

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes with wagging tails, like Harley!

This remarkable Goldendoodle from Virginia grabbed global attention in 2021, proving that action speaks louder than barks!

Harley’s owner, Ralph Dorn, caught sight of his six-year-old fur buddy swimming about 200 feet away from the shore. At first glance, it seemed like just another day in the water, but a closer look revealed Harley’s true intentions.

Ralph recalls, “Harley surely noticed the distressed fawn and instinctively dove into help.”

Braving the waters, Harley didn’t waver. Despite being quite a distance from the shore, he doggedly swam towards the distressed baby.

Guiding a New Friend to Safety

The few-days-old fawn was clearly disoriented and unsure how to navigate the waters. But Harley, swimming like a seasoned lifeguard, nudged and guided the fawn in the right direction.

“Every time the young one veered off course, Harley gently steered it back on track,” shared Ralph.

Thanks to Harley’s relentless efforts, the duo made it to shore. Once safe, Harley’s nurturing side shone through as he lovingly groomed the fawn, ensuring its well-being.

Their heartfelt reunion was briefly interrupted when the fawn’s mother appeared. Sensing her arrival, Ralph and Harley stepped back, allowing the family to reunite.

Unexpected Bonding The next day, as Ralph and his wife, Patricia, sipped their morning coffee, a restless Harley paced back and forth, fixated on the windows.

When Ralph opened the door, out dashed Harley to greet a familiar face: the very fawn he had rescued. The two shared a touching moment, wagging tails and all, rekindling their newfound friendship.
