After saving a woman who was being attacked with a knife by a man, a stray Pit Bull is being hailed as a hero. When the dog got in the way of a fight between a man and a woman while roaming the streets of Baldwin, Georgia, he was stabbed five times. When they got on the scene, Officer Daniel Seeley and Sgt. Timothy Clay noticed the dog bleeding on the sidewalk.

Sgt. Clay’s wife discloses on YouCaring that “while on duty, my husband and another officer responded to a domestic incident.” The woman who called claimed that while she and the man were arguing, the dog attacked the man in an effort to save her. The man then proceeded to repeatedly stab the dog.

The police transported the brave dog to an animal hospital after realizing they needed his aid. I don’t think we could have let that dog suffer and die, Officer Clay told ABC7. We thought we should aid the dog since it had gone through so much.

When the cops intervened, the dog, now known as “Hero,” was bleeding to death, but because of their rapid intervention, the surgeons were able to save him. After hearing Hero’s story, Carla Welch of Fighting For The Bullys volunteered to help the police.

She joined together with numerous other animal rescue organizations to help Hero and raise money for his medical care (he was also found to have heart worms). The police were unable to keep the dog, so Carla came to pick him up and take him back to her house in Tennessee.

“I thought he was really brave and strong,” Carla Welch said, “He was a complete stranger to these people.

She describes the friendly and laid-back 7-year-old Pit Bull. Since putting him up for adoption, she has received a flood of inquiries. She posts on Facebook, “OMG!” There are so many inquiries and applications that our Hero Inbox is full. “My emotions are running high right now!”

Hero will surely have a better future because to his daring actions! Let’s hope Hero receives the perfect forever home!

Hero has been welcomed home by Sara and David Simpson after being up for adoption for several months. The Tennessee couple took the brave canine into their home where he gets along well with their other two pets.

“We are so fortunate to be adopting this child and welcoming him into our family.” Sara Simpson posted on Facebook that “adjustments are going nicely.”

Hero appears to have lived most of his life on the streets, but Sara told WATE News that she is thrilled to provide for Hero. I’m very happy to provide a home for someone who has never had one, she continued. I use the pronoun “someone” because to me dogs are more than just pets. They’re like family to you and they’re actual people.
